Mai Sugaya has devoted over a decade to the study and practice of karate as a disciple of Takigawa sensei in Japan. Remarkably, she achieved the rank of 4th Dan in the JKF at the youngest age ever recorded. In addition to her karate accomplishments, Mai holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. She continues to enhance her understanding, knowledge, and proficiency in karate by integrating academic evidence into her training regimen.
